The First Week...

Well, we've made it through the first week, and all I can say is thank goodness for grandparents. Andy's parents switched their plans for the week (Thanks Auntie Kate!) and came down from Indiana as soon as Emerson arrived. They were such a huge help during this first week as Andy and I began to figure out how to run a household with two children.

Unfortunately, Addison got sent home sick from daycare on Tuesday and we had to call in backup in the form of Nana Rose and Boppa (Warren). Grandma Anne was gracious enough to take Addison to Nana's house with her 100 degree fever so Emme wouldn't be exposed to evil daycare germs :-)

This week was also filled with firsts for Emme. We had our first walk in the double stroller(in between downpours of rain), our first trip to the Sprint store to replace my phone (someone else was definitely using it :-( and our first bath.


Addison is still so gentle and sweet with Emme. She likes to "pet" Emme's mohawk (see the picture at right!) and whispers to her when she's sleeping.

   Well, we finally made it to Arkansas after a very, very, very, very long night. There was on-and-off driving, sleeping (well, it was really a lot of little naps) on the couch, the table seat, my real bed for about two hours, then back to the table seat. But we made it!    On Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, we played with Billy and EJ, built forts, and spent a lot of time on the lake. But today, Billy and EJ were back in school and my sisters and I had nothing to do. So Uncle Gannon took us to Crystal Bridges. We saw some really cool things, went on some trails, and got lost for about half an hour. But it was worth it!     We are leaving on Thursday, so we have one more day to have fun with our cousins and then it's off to the next state and the next adventure. ~ Emme

DISNEY (part 2)

Day Three started out EARLY!  We had 7:30 reservations at Chef Mickey, so we left Nana and Papa to sleep in and we headed out for our next adventure.  Tons. Of. Fun. AGAIN!!  The girls loved dancing around and thought it was super cool that we let them have as much syrup and whipped cream on their pancakes and hot cocoa as they wanted! Here are the girls dancing around after breakfast. Donald was a definite favorite! But Goofy really got Emme's attention.  They were fast friends!! After breakfast, we decided to relax around the pool for a bit before heading to Hollywood Studios.  Addison got up the nerve to go down the super long water slide.  It was really cool to watch her do that!  Emme wasn't quite as brave, but loved spending time in the pool! After the pool, we all headed back to our rooms and the girls took a long nap.  They had been going so fast, they finally needed time to crash!!
