Candy Corn

It's not even September, and Addison just asked if she could get some candy corn... WHAT?!? Who is teaching her this stuff??? K P.S.... she also wants to make sure that I know she wants to be a PRINCESS for Halloween! My poor post-feminist, no-young-girl-needs-a-man-on-a-horse-to-save-her, breaking heart... Andy, help... ;-)

Dialogue

Papa - Addison, are you sick? Addison - No, I just don't feel well.

Pool Designs...

What do you think, my internet friends? Any thoughts or suggestions? We're pretty sure the girls won't like it ;-)

Zoo Time!

Image
Nana, Papa, Addison, Emme and I went to the zoo earlier this month and had tons of fun - but the heat got to us!!! We are now at over 60 days this summer with temperatures over 100... that's hot, folks. Nana... pretending to be a giraffe Mmmmm... funnel cakes! They also got Gatorade, both were a big hit. Papa and the girls...

Las Vegas! - Smiles on everyone's face... it was a great vacation.

Baby Blabber

Emme went to bed at 7:45. She appeared to be sound asleep by 7:53. She has now spent the last 52 minutes singing and talking to all of her stuffed animals in her crib - it's 8:58. I LOVE this phase where she just blabbers on and on... happy as can be talking about her day.

Nightmares

Poor Addison! She started having "bad dreams" last month. I don't think there is much in life that is scarier than remembering a first nightmare and how real it seems at the time. The little girl even did the "ugly cry" where she couldn't breathe and talk because she was so scared. The good news is that she couldn't remember the dream... the bad news is... she couldn't remember the dream. We felt helpless and tried to explain to her that she was safe. I think I even made up a story about special Mommy "dust" that I keep in my necklace and could use it to sprinkle around her bed so she would be safe and have wonderful dreams. Yeah... that didn't work. Andy couldn't believe I even tried :-). Regardless, she spent the night in Mommy's bed for the first time in her life. She's back to sleeping in her own room tonight, so everyone send her sweet dreams!

Pool Time!

Ahhhhh.... I love that we are in the midst of the hottest summer on record in Texas - I think we are up to over 50 days with temperatures over 100. It's no wonder Andy and I are pondering how old Addison and Emme need to be to start digging a hole in the backyard to put in a pool. They seem to like our trips to the pool... Seriously... we are in the final stages of designing a pool for our back yard. Stay tuned for updates in the next few weeks!

Chemo Club 2009

Image
Gosh! It's been way too long since we've updated our blog. We promise to post more about things that are going on soon! But for the important stuff... we're celebrating Chemo Club 2009! Mom is doing great and is already through her second round of chemo. We took pictures today of all of us celebrating! We'd love to have you celebrate in the Chemo Club with us. It's easy! I have bunches of shirts that will be mailed out across the country for you to put on and take a crazy picture. Send me the picture and I will post on this blog for Mom to enjoy - and also make her a "I Killed Cancer" scrapbook (or name it something just as offensive) including pictures of as many friends and family as possible who are supporting her. If you'd like a t-shirt, just let me know (email me) and I will send it out. I will probably include the next address for you to send it to as well to share the shirts with as many people to take pictures as possible. Should be fun!...
