Emme

Emme's been sick since Friday, which is probably why there is no video of her walking. We took her to the doctor today after a weekend of fevers knowing that she was just teething, but wanting to be sure. Score one for Mommy and Daddy doctor. No ear infections or any other problems except the fever and the big boulders she's growing in her mouth. The sweet thing at least wanted to snuggle a little bit... or is that just the sweet sleep of infant tylenol taking over? Either way, we'll take it compared to the spunky little daredevil she normally is.

Addison still loves feeding the deer and Emme has really taken to them as well. The babies are their favorite... of course. We fed them watermelon the other day and Addison giggled and giggled watching them eat it. We have to be "vewy caweful" with them, though. They have discovered where the BIG STASH of corn and birdseed is. I found two mommas and two babies noshing away this afternoon right in our garage. Maybe there is something to that whole... nature/mankind/overlapping/intertwining thing and its dangers. I mean, really... they could have scratched the paint on Andy's new car or something. The least they could do is clean up the place when they're done. Even Addison pushes her chair in when she's finished eating. Of course, there's no Hi-5 if she doesn't wait for everyone to be finished, ask politely to be excused, and push in her chair. Do you think I could ask the same of the deer?

Good golly... she's ALMOST got it!!!!! Stay tuned for upcoming video of the Grande Emerson walking. I've got my panasonic close by. In terms of full disclosure, Andy said she walked 2 steps to him when he picked her up on Friday. She hasn't done it again, but she can stand up on her own now. My bet is standing and taking 3-4 steps at a time by Saturday. Any takers? We'll keep you posted.... get it?... posted?... blog posts?... posted? Anyone? Anyone? I need more sleep :-) K

DYK... ... we got a Roomba ... the girls are afraid of the Roomba ... the dog is afraid of the Roomba ... Roomba ROCKS! It vacuums e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g ... Whatever. I'm saving for their therapy anyways, they might as well have Roomba to talk about ... Emme is eating really well these days ... Emme even ate a cheeseburger today ... It was at McDonalds. ... For a party. ... It was the first time Addison E-V-E-R got to play at their playland ... (and maybe the last) ... Emme is a bruiser ~ She is into everything and goes everywhere ... She even pinches her sister when Addison gets in her way ... Addison started her new school on Monday ... She cried everyday ... At least on the last day she cried as she was running to her new teacher ... Addison makes her sister laugh like nobody else ... Addison and Emme fight over who gets the swing on the new playground ... Their parents are pretty sharp, so they bought another swing ... Both girls like to get up at 6:30 these...

So now that all of the campaigns are finished (for now) and the primaries have left us (in under ten minutes...meh... so I'm a little early), I think it's wise to remember the sage words of that seventies icon, Coke. So ignore all of the underpinnings of the message (capitalism - marketing is king - that it's really Coke bringing this commercial to make $moolah$) and just go straight to the little ditty. Can't we all just get along? Sigh! Peace! P.S. Kinda makes me think we should bring back Hands Across America, just one more time. Oh, come on, you know you remember that and were planning to be part of the link somewhere between Toledo and Omaha!

Is this bad? Would it be bad if it had been there for more than two days? Would it be bad if I thought Emme was crawling around in there. I haven't seen her in a few. If you do think this is bad, please don't accept the next time I invite you over. You don't want to see the rest of the house. Charming, no? Oh wait! What's that you say? Kerry finished her dissertation proposal and has more time to fold laundry? Woohoo! Just want she always wanted!!!
