Relaxing Weekend

Image
We had a nice, relaxing weekend. Andy was away last week from Sunday through Thursday, so I wasn't able to post much or take many pictures. We enjoyed dinner Friday night with Nana and Papa and then spent Saturday morning shopping for backyard playsets for the girls. It just so happened that we went to dinner Saturday night with one of my dear friends at her new house and they had a similar playscape for their little girl who is about three months older than Addison. It definitely cemented the deal!!! They played forever on it, stopping just enough to eat a little dinner. Monday is here and Andy is back at work. I'm off to start writing Chapter 2 of my dissertation. I've got a pretty solid Chapter 3 and a great start to Chapter 1 (yes, you can go out of order!)... so now I'm off to tackle some more writing. In case you're interested, here is a picture of the type of playscapes we've been looking at. We're trying to balance the expense with how much it will b...

Fashion Diva

Our neighbor Ellis came by and played dress up with Addison last week. They had tons of fun. I guess it made an impression on Addison because she wanted to dress herself for school today. This is what she chose. P.S. It was her decision to pull the socks up to her knees as well :-) K

Mmmmm... Bananas!

Image
We've been slow to introduce more solid foods to Emme. She just isn't very interested in finger foods other than Gerber Puffs right now. I tried real bananas for the first time is a while. She liked bananas yesterday... and flat out refused them this morning. At least the girl knows what she wants ***eyeroll***

Easter Bunnies

Well... Easter Eggs or Easter Bunnies... they're all the same to a two-year-old :-)

Family pictures

I took a bunch of pictures today of Addison, Emerson and Andy. Click here if you want to see all of them from the Egg Scramble at church to the sisters and their daddy.

Egg Scramble

Image
We went to an Egg Scramble tonight for the girls. Addison took part in the "2 and under" group and she loved it. We even let her eat some Smarties that she found in the eggies.

Thank you Easter Bunny!!!

Image
We've received all types of Easter cards and presents from relatives for the girls over the past week. A big thank you is being sent out to Pappy and Ba-Chan, Grandma and Grandpa, and Uncle Todd and Aunt Vivian. We loved all of the cards, pillows and the Easter Basket presents (even the extra money hidden in the Easter Eggs that Addison found). Thanks so much!!!

Easter Eggs

Image
Addison and I made Glitter Easter Eggs today while Emme napped. We had tons of fun and Addison has requested that her Eggies stay on the kitchen table so she can "visit them more." They don't smell bad yet... Addison and the eggs before... Shaking the eggs in the dye... Close-up... The final product...

School Pictures

Here are some pictures... Enjoying her reflection. Emerson's crib Her little mobile.

Emme's 1st day of school

Emme had her first day of school yesterday. She has two wonderful teachers, Miss Odelia and Miss Karen. She stayed with them from 12:00 - 5:00 and even took a 1.5 hour nap for them. I'll be sure to post pictures later of her new classroom. Kerry

More songs...

I'm trying to get itsy-bitsy spider on video, but she just clams up when I get the camera out. Here is a random version of twinkle, twinkle. Usually it's done with full hand gestures, and usually it's also done about 20 times in a row.

Happy St. Patty's Day

Image
Addison, Emerson and I made green rice crispy treats with "pinkles" on them. We wish we could share them with you!

MY Pillow!

Image
Grandma is the bestest! Addison's toddler pillows arrived yesterday, and she couldn't have fallen in love with them any faster. They came straight out of the box and went immediately into a bear hug. MY Pillow. Daddy was only allowed to hold it while we traversed the stairs to go to bedtime (then she took it back) ...and guess who had to come down in the morning for breakfast...yep MY pillow. (Note that this is not a normal breakfast, but a special snack to hold her over until Nana & Papa arrived to take the girls out for breakfast...it's a rare treat to be able to eat a snack and watch TV). Needless to say, Addison is thrilled (as are we). Thank you, Grandma!!!

XOM, eat your heart out.

Image
You can continue to take $10 Billion a quarter from consumers, but I'm working to minimize how much of that comes from me! (XOM is the ticker symbol for Exxon-Mobil) I know, the photos aren't that good, but here's what they say: straight and level terrain, cruise control is set (constant speed) at 35 mph, and the vehicle is in EV mode (electric vehicle). also worthy of note, there are 367 miles on the tank of fuel, which is showing just below half, and the MPG meter is off the scale.

Cascarones

Too much fun!!! If you don't know what cascarones are, click here. Kerry

Walmart Sucks...

Okay... so i've never been a fan. But come on, Walmart (they're listening, right?!?!), help a Momma out. It was bad enough that you were accused of discriminating against women and goodness knows you were wrong to leave the lead-tainted bibs on the shelves , but this is the last straw. Why on earth can't the largest supermonster store of them all provide their patrons with shopping carts that hold two children? Even worse, why did they want to charge me ONE DOLLAR to rent a cart that would hold both of my children? Are you kidding?!?!? Obviously I haven't been to Walmart since Emme was born, so you can see how unloyal of a customer I am, but whatever. It was enough of a deal-breaker for me that I had to talk to a manager. I should have turned around and drove to Target, but I'm not the brightest in the world. The manager? Not very helpful. Polite. But not helpful. I actually asked him if he thought his main clientele didn't really have more than one...

Mmmm... yummy!

Image
Carrots... before (she's so polite with the finger, I know) After... And of course, a few of Addison

New Car continued

Image
The car arrived today! (actually late last night). We met up with the Driver early this morning to take possession. As predicted ;), it's a Sonoma Sunset Nissan Altima Hybrid, blonde leather interior, connection package (bluetooth, 6 disc in-dash, steering wheel controls, XM radio), and a sunroof. Delivered in tact, no issues, and the driver was very professional-first class. here are a couple of photos.

Grandpa's 60th - Surprise!

There is just too much to write about, so here are the cliff notes. If you want to see all of the pictures, you can click here. Grandma and Grandpa came down from Indiana to stay at a time share at Lake Conroe. It was tons of fun and Addison got to play on the playground with her second cousin Grace, feed the ducks and eat a bunch of "pappycakes." After their trip to Lake Conroe, Grandma and Grandpa came to stay with us for a few days. We did lots of things including a trip to explore UT, and dinner at Red Robin where Addison met Mr. Red Robin, but the best part was surprising Grandpa with a visit from Uncle Dan, Aunt Andrea, Uncle Mike and Aunt Kate.

ABC's

Here is Addison singing her ABC's. She usually gets them all right, except for F and G. Those seem to get lost most days.

New Car part 2

The new car is officially on it's way....it's going onto the truck in CA as we speak, and will be making the journey here over the next couple of days....in the words of Addison...."Vewy 'Citing!!!"
