Sister Love

Image
Sisters are just the best... ... notice Addison saying, "tickle tickle" to Emme. She does this quite often ;-)

Fun Stuff

Image
Tonight was such fun! Andy, Addy and I went down to campus and I received my UT class ring. I guess it's official now. Since I had it made with 2008 on it, I really need to write that dissertation. Andy asked what would happen if I didn't graduate in '08. I told him that the little warranty actually provides for a one-time change of graduation dates... OR degree... for free. The way I look at it, I can change both if I want to ;-). Even cooler than the degree or year (neither will change and both are non-negotiable) is the engraving I had put on the inside. It has a favorite Rodgers and Hammerstein song title "You'll Never Walk Alone" and the initials AAE for Andy, Addison and Emme. Addison was great at the ring presentation ceremony (it's a big deal in Texas to get a UT or A&M ring! I never realized what a tradition it is) and really enjoyed playing with the statues of Longhorns and horses. Kerry p.s. I have to include these recent pictures of Emme!

Scream

Yes, dear Addison, when you touch things you shouldn't, sometimes bad things happen. Addison learned that the vacuum cleaner is loud when she turns it on. I've never seen her jump, scream and cry all at the same time when she decided to push the on button for the vacuum cleaner today. It took quite a while to calm her down after that and now every time she passes the vacuum, she points to it and says, "NO ~ looooouuuuuud!" Kerry

Shoes!

Addison had a real problem with her shoes this past week. Of course, Andy and I think it is very funny, but Addy was pretty traumatized when she realized she had to give up her old shoes. You see, she outgrew her shoes a few weeks ago and I bought two new pairs for her to wear. She REALLY didn't want to wear them so I didn't force the issue, I just offered them every day. She always chose her old shoes. But, as shoes do, they finally became too tight for her little feet. You should have seen the D-R-A-M-A that happened when she realized one morning last week that her favorite shoes were not in their place. She only had her two new shoes to choose from and the tears started flowing. We tried rationalizing with her, we tried bargaining with her, we even tried to tell her that the Shoe Fairy came to take her old shoes away and give them to another little girl who didn't have shoes. Nothing worked!!! Andy even went to the store and bought a new pair of shoes that were...

Here come the holidays...

Image
So I have to admit that I think I'm hooked. One short week at my new job and just a few days on the new MacBook, and I don't think there's anything I miss from windows...and I keep discovering features that I really like in OS X. :) At the house, we finally had to turn on the heaters in the house this morning... 2 days in a row below 50 degrees. The family thinks 64 is too cold for the house (I agree). Good news is that everything fired up and ran as expected. Here is a pity photo pleading for the heat to come on. I also promised our weblog audience a couple of photos of the new deck. A couple of weeks late, but here they are. And finally, as the title states, the holidays are coming on fast...

Thankful

I asked Addison what she was thankful for... .... she said... ... STICKERS!!! I keep pretending that she said "Sister" since that is what she calls Emme sometimes, but I'm pretty sure it was stickers. Either way, both are something to be thankful for. Kerry

Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

Love your sweet girls, Addison and Emerson

Fun Times

Image
This weekend we went to a birthday party for our friends who have two little girls born within a month of both Addison and Emme. We had a great time playing with them and Addison really liked their toys. Emme had fun watching their little border collie play with a ball. It was the first smile we had seen out of her for quite a while. This is also Andy's birthday week. Addison and I made peanut butter cookies and decorated them. We also made a cake, that I must say will qualify for World's Ugliest if I chose to enter it in the running. Addison picked out all of the sprinkles and the saying, but the frosting job was 100% me! Yep... I take all the credit (mental note, don't buy the cheap frosting when you know it won't work!!!)! Tomorrow I'll get up and bake cinnamon rolls for Andy, but I've promised him they will be pretty and tasty. I'll let you know how it goes. The first layer of frosting went pretty well... ... it was the top layer that doesn't look so...

Telephone Talks with Addison

Ring Ring "Hello" "Yes, Mommy here!" "Mommy here. Go to school." (We're driving to school at the time) "Go to school." "No, Daddy working" "Yeah... Daddy works" "No, Emme sleeping" "WAKE UP EMME!!!" "My telephone" "Yeah... okay, bye bye" .... throws telephone down... I always wonder who is on the other side of that phone. Kerry

Attack of the Monster Emme

Image
Sometimes we call Addison our little monster. We mean it in the most endearing way, you know, sort of how Cookie Monster and Elmo are monsters? But for the past few days, our sweet, kind, sensitive, and easy-going Emme has turned into a monster. She has been eating more than I can giver her and my freezer isn't nearly as stocked with Emme food as it used to be. Andy and I keep thinking that she is so upset because she is hungry. Goodness knows she weighs almost 15 pounds at 4 1/2 months old. We're starting to think we might give her some mashed bananas for Thanksgiving dinner. We were going to wait until six months and Christmas dinner, but she's giving all the signs that she is ready now. Addison had her first solids at 5 months as well. We'll keep you posted. Until then, just know that this is the face we've been seeing a lot!!! On a funny note, Addison only wants to watch Elmo Potty... over and over again she'll ask for Elmo Potty!!! You see, Dadd...

Busy Nights

I've been gone the past four nights, busy with meetings and class, so Andy has been taking care of the girls. I was suppose to go to another meeting tonight, but decided I should probably stay home. I'm so happy I did. Addy was especially snuggly this evening and sat in my lap for over an hour while I read stories to her. We had such a nice time, but I realized that the older she gets the fewer snuggles she's willing to give. I'll take any chance I can get to get some sweet time in, even if it means missing a silly meeting. Kerry

Feast Pictures

Image
Here are the pictures from Thanksgiving Feast today. It really was such a great time and the best part was being able to help Addison's teachers Miss Cindy and Miss Irma. I think they were able to sit down, eat a full meal and relax, even if was for just a few minutes. Here are the pictures. We hope you enjoy them. Kerry Here is Daddy and Addison outside the church. Notice the butterfly in the tree? Addison has to say hi to the "bubberfly" every morning and afternoon. This is the "gang" at chapel. Miss Cindy is on the left, Miss Irma is in the second row and our good friend Renli (aka Mia's Mom) is sitting next to me. Here is our little table for the wobblers (that's what they're called, honest!). They made the placemats themselves. Addison dug right into the bread. She got a mouthful!!! Daddy and Addy sitting at the little table.

Nursery School Thanksgiving Meal

Today was the Thanksgiving meal at Addy's school, and parents were invited! So, mommy, daddy, and Addy headed over to the school for the event. We started by going to Chapel for a short service with Addy and her 4 friends in her class. they all sang along and did the hand motions to the songs. I think Addy and her best friend from school are having a contest to see who can be more enthusiastic! very cute. After chapel we all went to have our thanksgiving meal. it's very amusing to watch the kids sit in their little chairs at their little table to eat. All in all, it was a nice meal, and we enjoyed chatting with the other parents and helping with the kiddos. Hope to have photos later when I find the camera ; )

The Cutest...

Image
Isn't she just the cutest, folks??? We had a little cold front come through, but it's back up to the 80's again ;-) She's bundled up and just looks so sweet. In the third picture, Emme's holding her bottle for the first time. She's really started grabbing for everything in the past few days. Kerry

New patio, new opportunities, and a great visit!

well, today I got to have my first cup of morning coffee while relaxing outside on our new balcony deck. Addison joined me, and loves to run back and forth from side to side, giggling the whole time. It's been a very busy week, starting with a wonderful visit from "Gama" and "Gampa". We had a great 2nd birthday party for miss Addison last Saturday. On Sunday, Dad and I started construction on the balcony deck, which actually went up pretty quickly and came out excellent! A huge thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for all the help/support during this super busy week. On Monday, I resigned from my job, and have accepted a new position with another company at a local site. I'm very excited about the position, which should grow into an excellent opportunity and will leverage many aspects of my previous experience. Of course, immediately upon my resignation, my company released me, deleted my accounts and cancelled my phone, so I'm kind of disconnected until...

New Pictures

Image
I LOVE these new pictures. We took them for Emme's 4 month pictures and Addison's 2 year old pictures. We also took a picture for our Holiday Cards... but you'll have to wait to see it. It is really fun!!! Kerry

4 month check-up

Emerson went for her four month well baby check yesterday. She weighed in at 14.5 pounds and measured 24.5 inches. That puts her in the 50th percentile for weight and the 75th percentile for height. Check here if you want to see the chart they use. Scroll down to where it says SET 1 and then select the link for girls (third one down). It's always kind of interesting to me to look. Emme also got four shots yesterday and she did not like them at all. The nurse that gave them to her usually does a great job of giving them quickly. Yesterday, she hit a vein as she was pulling out the last needle for her last shot and unfortunately, it really hurt Emme. The little girl didn't even cry for her first set of shots, but let me tell you... we've had a long day and night this time. I finally got my first smile around 10:00 last night, so I know all will be well soon. I think I may send Andy to do her next set of shots. Kerry

Birthday Party

Image
Wow! Who knew little birthdays lasted a whole week. Between Halloween, her actual birthday and the party, Addison 's birthday was was a birthweek! Nevertheless, lots of fun was had by all. The party started at 3:00 and lots of Addison 's little friends came to play. The weather was gorgeous, so we stayed outside most of the day. Uncle Mike and Aunt Val came by with little Natalie. They brought Addison a Radio Flyer Trike. Way Cool! Most of the afternoon was spent playing with new play-doh from Nana and Papa, using chalk on the driveway and looking for the lizard with her friends. The cupcakes that Nana made were also a hit. Here are a few pictures of the party. Since there were lots of little ones and I don't have permission to show all of the pictures, there are only a few here. Sorry about that.

Thank You!

Thanks to everyone who called or sent cards for Addison's birthday. She listened to Pappy and Ba-Chan's message at least four time and wanted to send this message to Aunt Kate and Uncle Mike who sent her a video birthday message. Kerry

Birthday!

Image
Addison spent a great second birthday with the grandparents. It all started out when she came downstairs and found the Elmo balloon waiting for her. She played with that forever and then Daddy made her pancakes with "blue-babies" on it. After breakfast, Addison and Grandma read a cute little book called Mrs. Wishy Washy. The story is about baby animals playing in the mud, so Grandma gave Addison a little treat. She got to eat animal crackers dipped in "mud." She LOVED it! Later in the afternoon, Addison got a great little gift from Grandma and Grandpa. She loves playing with toy kitchens so Addison's present was a microwave with food. The microwave actually turns "on" and has a working turntable. When she takes the food out, she always says it's "hot" and blows on it to cool it down. Most of the time she shares with everyone... even the dog. Too cute!

Halloween

Image
Well folks, Addison just doesn't quite *get* Halloween yet. I wish I could send out cute pictures of her in her costume, dancing around on a chocolate high, but that just isn't going to happen this year. She flat out refused to wear her little costume, so this Momma already has visions of two cute little girls dressed in their costumes next year. I'm sure I will have two angels who agree to dress up like Texas Sweeties. Maybe some cute warm-ups like this? Grandma and Grandpa Moll came to visit for Addison's birthday and we all met at Jackie's house. Sine we don't get trick-or-treaters where we live, we figured we would spend the evening with Jackie and help her hand out candy. This is the part that Addison loved. She would peak through the window and hand out candy to all of the little boys and girls. She also had lots of fun digging through the "dress up basket" that Mommy won at our church's silent auction. We love the tiaras! Grandma defini...

T-W-O

Happy birthday to my sweet little girl! I'll post pictures and updates about Halloween and her birthday tomorrow.
