Slump???

Okay... Anyone else out there just in a slump??? I am. Maybe it's the midterms I'm working on or the fact that I have this huge thing called a dissertation that doesn't seem to leave my thoughts. I mean really, can't I just change a diaper without thinking about which subtitle makes the most sense? Maybe my slump is weather induced? We finally cooled off here in Texas, but maybe that's what's messing with me. My body just doesn't know what to do with the freezing 75 degree weather. I know it can't be the lack of sleep or the excess of caffeine... could it?!? It definitely can't be the excess of alcohol since I've sworn it off. It seems I have some sort of weird allergy to alcohol all of a sudden, or maybe the Southern Comfort was just bad. I'm pretty sure that a nice glass of wine would get me kick-started and out of my slump, but I'm too scared to try.

Come on other slumpers out there... tell me what your secret is to moving out of slumpdom. I'm open to anything... singing Kumbaya in a circle, lighting incense, perhaps double-fudge chocolate chip brownies? If there aren't any suggestions, how about just tossing some positive vibes my way to hurry this phase out so I can concentrate on more important things like putting together Christmas cards (yes, I know it's only October... but I haven't done holiday cards in two years) and organizing Addison's birthday party.

Anyone, anyone... Bueller, Bueller????? tee...hee... Maybe I just need to watch a good movie.

i dont think my slump is going to help you since you have a husband and two girls, but i spent all day sunday in bed just watching tv, reading and crocheting. . .didnt necessarily make me feel better, but i didnt do any work. At least your weather is slightly warmer than here in LA. . .it was 68 today.

It is perfectly normal to have a slump about now. You're dealing with a lot of stuff! Any and all your own suggestions help, talk about it, but time will too. Hang in there and get others to do things. Remember, what doesn't get done, just doesn't get done. Focus on what has to be done, relax and take care of you.
Know that we love you and will help any way we can!
