Birthday

I love getting the mail when I know something good is suppose to be coming my way. I recently started planning Addison's second birthday party and Andy and I decided that we would invite some of her little friends. Those of you that know me well understand when I say that I didn't want a "theme" birthday. No princesses, barbies or even Dora for us; not at least until Addison can ask for it herself. But I've never shopped for birthday goodies for two-year-olds, and I quickly realized the slim-pickens when those got vetoed out. Needless to say, I decided to get creative and get some announcements made instead of traditional invites. Lindsay, at Bella Jackson Designs put together the absolute best birthday announcements I've seen. Here is one of the designs she did for us. The other version she did is a bit more formal and has pictures of Addison from birth to this month. If you want to see it, shoot me an email and I'll share it with you. You should definitely check out her website and consider using her for your holiday or birthday cards. It was SO easy and fun!

As for the birthday party, I've learned that they all seem to have to have a theme... so Addison's will be Flower Power with flowers all over (notice the flowers on the announcement). I've already begun to plan Emme's and can't wait to design a little hula girl announcement for her first birthday.



P.S. Did you notice that today is Emerson's 3 month birthday? It seems like just yesterday...

   Well, we finally made it to Arkansas after a very, very, very, very long night. There was on-and-off driving, sleeping (well, it was really a lot of little naps) on the couch, the table seat, my real bed for about two hours, then back to the table seat. But we made it!    On Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, we played with Billy and EJ, built forts, and spent a lot of time on the lake. But today, Billy and EJ were back in school and my sisters and I had nothing to do. So Uncle Gannon took us to Crystal Bridges. We saw some really cool things, went on some trails, and got lost for about half an hour. But it was worth it!     We are leaving on Thursday, so we have one more day to have fun with our cousins and then it's off to the next state and the next adventure. ~ Emme

DISNEY (part 2)

Day Three started out EARLY!  We had 7:30 reservations at Chef Mickey, so we left Nana and Papa to sleep in and we headed out for our next adventure.  Tons. Of. Fun. AGAIN!!  The girls loved dancing around and thought it was super cool that we let them have as much syrup and whipped cream on their pancakes and hot cocoa as they wanted! Here are the girls dancing around after breakfast. Donald was a definite favorite! But Goofy really got Emme's attention.  They were fast friends!! After breakfast, we decided to relax around the pool for a bit before heading to Hollywood Studios.  Addison got up the nerve to go down the super long water slide.  It was really cool to watch her do that!  Emme wasn't quite as brave, but loved spending time in the pool! After the pool, we all headed back to our rooms and the girls took a long nap.  They had been going so fast, they finally needed time to crash!!
