ABC's and 123's
Addison's vocabulary is just starting to explode. Out of the blue she will start singing her ABC's and she loves to count to five now. Unfortunately, there isn't a one in there. She seems to always start with two and I'm afraid that there won't be any higher level mathematical computations coming soon if she doesn't understand the concept of one... tee... hee. Even though Addison only goes to school twice a week, she seems to really love it. Although, she did come home last week telling everyone "Sorry" including Elmo. I need to find out what that is about! I really like her teacher, Miss Cindy. She is so patient and caring with all of the precious little ones in the class. I decided since I might not have the time in the future (because we all know Andy and I have tons of time now), I wanted the experience of being a Room Mom for her little classroom. Basically, the Room Mom is in charge of organizing things for the parents in the room like the Fall Festival, celebrating the teacher's birthday, and helping out with the Spring Musical that all the little kids get to be in. Here is a picture of Addison in her new classroom.

There is even a chart where they measure how tall they are and Addison is the tallest in her class of 7.
Emme is also growing and discovering new things. Today was a great day for us. We are finally in a routine where I'm able to understand what she needs and when throughout the day. She has been going to "bed" around 7 - 8 at night and sleeping until 5 when she wants to have an early morning snack. Sometimes she only makes it until 2am or so and sometimes she doesn't fall alseep until 9 or 10, but for the most part she's been pretty consistent. She always goes back to sleep after this and usually doesn't wake until after 8 again. This way, I'm able to get Addison up and ready for the day before Emme wakes up again.
Emme has started smiling big full body smiles. She just loves it when I put on different hats and has a neat fascination with ceiling fans. We've spent many a content afternoon on the floor together staring up at the fan and singing little songs. When she smiles at me, I can just imagine her saying I'm so glad you've finally figured out what I've been trying to tell you for the past two months. This is the good life! It's just truly great. I wonder if it's too early to start teaching her how to say Mamma.
