DISNEY!!! (part 1)
I did it!! I FINALLY did it!! Not only did I convince Andy to go to Disneyworld, but I convinced Nana and Papa to come along with us. AND, I actually booked the trip. It was an absolutely perfect and memorable trip. One that I don't think Addison or Emme will forget! They were such troopers. Our trip started on Thursday with an easy flight to Orlando. Brennan slept the entire time and we got to our hotel in time to check-in, get settled, and notice that we could see Cinderella's castle from our balcony. We boogied out of the hotel and went to Magic Kingdom. We actually stayed on site at the Grand Floridian, which was such a perfect place for our first trip, so we were able to take the boat across the lake. I think I was in awe more than the girls. It is truly amazing! Disney does such a great job with taking care of EVERYTHING!
Here is Nana and Papa waiting for the launch of the boat to take us to MK!
The girls started drooling over pastries early!!
Emme was a bit camera shy the entire trip, but Addison couldn't wait to take a picture with everything. Here she is in front of the castle.
The first thing we did after going down Main Street USA was head to Fantasyland, where we went on the Carousel.
Here is Emme and me on our first ride together... Dumbo!! It was a bit tame for Addison, but Emme got a kick out of it!
After going to It's a Small World, the Haunted Mansion, and dining at Liberty Tavern (super yummy!), we watched the Electric Parade and then headed back to the hotel room. We were so excited to be able to see the fireworks from the balcony!!
Day 2 was EPCOT! All I can say is, I wish we would have spent more time here. I think it was the girls' favorite place, mostly because of Soarin'. Emme would have stayed on that ride FOR-EVAH! It was actually the moment at the start of the ride, where I saw that Emme really believed this was a magical place.
Addison just wanted to hug everyone all day. She was just so happy to be there!!
After we went on the Nemo ride and Soarin', we had our first character lunch with the Princesses. Emme got camera shy again, but her favorite was definitely Sleeping Beauty. Addison loved Belle and Cinderella. The lunch was really well done and the girls thought it was pretty special.
After lunch, Addison, Emme, Papa and I got stuck on a ride... we honestly don't even remember which ride. Just that there was water, it was dark, and we were happy to get off after 20 minutes!
Then we headed over to Test Track. This was Daddy's favorite! Addison and Emme actually keep talking about it. I liked it as well. We went super fast :)
Then we decided to take a quick break before going to Mission Space and Soarin' again. Emme was too short for Mission Space, but with the kid swap program, Addison was able to go on it twice! She was fearless.
At the end of the day, we hadn't even made it all the way around Epcot. We missed a bunch of the countries. But we did get to see Mickey for the first time and a few of his friends.
