Relaxing Weekend

We had a nice, relaxing weekend. Andy was away last week from Sunday through Thursday, so I wasn't able to post much or take many pictures. We enjoyed dinner Friday night with Nana and Papa and then spent Saturday morning shopping for backyard playsets for the girls. It just so happened that we went to dinner Saturday night with one of my dear friends at her new house and they had a similar playscape for their little girl who is about three months older than Addison. It definitely cemented the deal!!! They played forever on it, stopping just enough to eat a little dinner.

Monday is here and Andy is back at work. I'm off to start writing Chapter 2 of my dissertation. I've got a pretty solid Chapter 3 and a great start to Chapter 1 (yes, you can go out of order!)... so now I'm off to tackle some more writing.

In case you're interested, here is a picture of the type of playscapes we've been looking at. We're trying to balance the expense with how much it will be utilized. Who would have thought a bunch of wood would cost so much?!?!?! By the way, we're not looking at something this big (imagine cutting it in half), this is just an example.

   Well, we finally made it to Arkansas after a very, very, very, very long night. There was on-and-off driving, sleeping (well, it was really a lot of little naps) on the couch, the table seat, my real bed for about two hours, then back to the table seat. But we made it!    On Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, we played with Billy and EJ, built forts, and spent a lot of time on the lake. But today, Billy and EJ were back in school and my sisters and I had nothing to do. So Uncle Gannon took us to Crystal Bridges. We saw some really cool things, went on some trails, and got lost for about half an hour. But it was worth it!     We are leaving on Thursday, so we have one more day to have fun with our cousins and then it's off to the next state and the next adventure. ~ Emme

DISNEY (part 2)

Day Three started out EARLY!  We had 7:30 reservations at Chef Mickey, so we left Nana and Papa to sleep in and we headed out for our next adventure.  Tons. Of. Fun. AGAIN!!  The girls loved dancing around and thought it was super cool that we let them have as much syrup and whipped cream on their pancakes and hot cocoa as they wanted! Here are the girls dancing around after breakfast. Donald was a definite favorite! But Goofy really got Emme's attention.  They were fast friends!! After breakfast, we decided to relax around the pool for a bit before heading to Hollywood Studios.  Addison got up the nerve to go down the super long water slide.  It was really cool to watch her do that!  Emme wasn't quite as brave, but loved spending time in the pool! After the pool, we all headed back to our rooms and the girls took a long nap.  They had been going so fast, they finally needed time to crash!!
