I learned a new word today...

Yep! That's right... I'm a Momocrat. A mom and a democrat... gee, like you didn't know I was a little "left" of center. Anyhow, I know that this is a totally apolitical blog (and I'm definitely not endorsing any specific candidate), but I just couldn't not post this link to Mom-101. Having two girls makes me more committed than ever to making sure that what I do every day will make their world a better place. Informed voting is one of those things. It is also why I am so dedicated to improving our public education!!!

It is also why Addison has been to vote with Andy and me four times in her short life... and no, it's not just so she can get the stickers ;-)

So this I say to everyone, especially for all those moms of daughters out there: take the time to think about the power of your vote and how the next President of the United States will enact policies that might directly affect your child's quality of life.

... but please, like the title says... don't read it if you collect little elephants or have ever once though, "Gee, Huckabee is my man!" Actually, if you've ever thought that, you REALLY need to read this :-)

   Well, we finally made it to Arkansas after a very, very, very, very long night. There was on-and-off driving, sleeping (well, it was really a lot of little naps) on the couch, the table seat, my real bed for about two hours, then back to the table seat. But we made it!    On Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, we played with Billy and EJ, built forts, and spent a lot of time on the lake. But today, Billy and EJ were back in school and my sisters and I had nothing to do. So Uncle Gannon took us to Crystal Bridges. We saw some really cool things, went on some trails, and got lost for about half an hour. But it was worth it!     We are leaving on Thursday, so we have one more day to have fun with our cousins and then it's off to the next state and the next adventure. ~ Emme

DISNEY (part 2)

Day Three started out EARLY!  We had 7:30 reservations at Chef Mickey, so we left Nana and Papa to sleep in and we headed out for our next adventure.  Tons. Of. Fun. AGAIN!!  The girls loved dancing around and thought it was super cool that we let them have as much syrup and whipped cream on their pancakes and hot cocoa as they wanted! Here are the girls dancing around after breakfast. Donald was a definite favorite! But Goofy really got Emme's attention.  They were fast friends!! After breakfast, we decided to relax around the pool for a bit before heading to Hollywood Studios.  Addison got up the nerve to go down the super long water slide.  It was really cool to watch her do that!  Emme wasn't quite as brave, but loved spending time in the pool! After the pool, we all headed back to our rooms and the girls took a long nap.  They had been going so fast, they finally needed time to crash!!
