Happy 4th of July
We had such a great day today. Of course, it started with putting the girls in blue little shirts with stars on them and adorable skirts!!! They were really cute, and we tried getting some good pics, but it didn't work out. After picture time, the girls and I went to our local parade with my good friend and her daughter who is only a few months older than Addison. We drove down and found a good little spot on the route, but you could tell we were newbies at the whole parade thing. We brought strollers, but forgot about chairs. We used our critical thinking skills though and swiped the daycare blankets out of the back of my car that I didn't take out from the day before. Thank goodness we remembered snacks and juice boxes. But we were outnumbered adults to children, so our arms got sore holding someone all of the time. We also didn't think about the candy that gets thrown during parades. All of the older kids had their bags ready and were much quicker than we were. Notice in the pictures I finally went out in to the street to try to bring back some candy that we won't even let the girls eat. They knew they wanted it, though. Candy or not, we all had a blast and ended the morning with a lunch treat from Sonic!
Tomorrow we're heading out to the lake on the boat with Emerson for the first time. Wish us luck!!!
