Happy New Year!

We spent the day enjoying time with the girls and celebrating the fact that Mom will be starting 2010 cancer free! It's been a long year including watching the girls grow from babies into little girls, finishing my doctorate, doing what we could to support Mom, and welcoming new cousins to the family. I know that doesn't cover all that has happened this year, but to celebrate 2010, we had silly string wars and noisemaker fights. That's the way it should be, right???

Christmas 2009

Just some of the many that make me smile from this holiday season. We'll post more soon!

Facebook Posts

Here are a few recent facebook posts about Emme... she keeps us on our toes! True story: Emme told me today, "I don't want Santa to come! I don't want to be good anymore." Emme stole our bed... Andy and I are still on the couch trying to figure out how we let that happen... and if it's worth it to wake a sleeping Emme-monster. Emme is playing fetch with herself... she is both the dog and the human... arf arf, she says.

Christmas Eve 2009

What a wonderful day! Even though Emme now has a case of bronchitis and an ear infection, we had a wonderful day of baking and celebrating. Addison, Emme and I made oreo cake and monkey muffins this evening, Daddy made creamed eggs for tomorrow, and we went for a yummy dinner of sushi with Papa. We also opened our new "no peeking" jammies. We've been following Santa and his trip on Norad, and the girls are quite excited about him coming! Here are a few pictures from the season that we hope you enjoy! ... our beautiful tree and girls ... Monkey muffins and cookies for Santa ... a trip to our big lighted oak tree in our town ... Addison was crying because she managed to fall two times in two minutes while trying to get into the big Santa sled.

Pool Fun

Here is Addison filling up the pool with water back in the middle of November. She just couldn't wait to get in!!! After Addison filled it up, Daddy thought it would be a good idea for everyone to play in the water, even though the heater wasn't working yet. So on Thanksgiving day, the girls and Daddy rolled up their pants to play. Notice how quickly Addison gets in... and how quickly Emme gets out. What you don't see is the look on Emme's face afterwards that clearly says, "you people are CRAZY!!!"

Santa is Coming!

This is the first year that Addison and Emme "get" the idea of Christmas, both in the traditional sense ("it's Jesus's birthday, Momma!!!") and in the sense that Santa is everywhere ("Yes he DOES know everything, Momma!!!"). So because Santa has become a big deal in our house, we went to visit him early this year. It was wonderful! Addison and Emme both made "presents" FOR Santa and drew him pictures. In return, we got this great picture of them, happy as can be. And for the record, Addison hasn't yet taken off her jingle bell that Santa gave her.
